I had the absolute joy of capturing Jillian and Jeff’s dreamy Owl’s Nest Resort wedding day. Everything about their day was stunning. The gorgeous Thornton, NH wedding venue sits partially on land and over Lake Harold. Between the well maintained landscape, the beautiful lakefront, and the epic views of the White Mountains, Owl’s Nest Resort provides a picture perfect backdrop for couples to say “I Do”! 

Jillian and Jeff are the sweetest couple! They are both unbelievably genuine and compassionate, which makes sense as they are both ER nurses who met at work. After dating for a while, Jeff proposed during sunset at a ranch in Texas where they were staying. These traveling nurses now live in New Hampshire and just purchased a new home together. They’ve been looking forward to their wedding day ever since Jillian said “YES!” 

Their day was easy and fun, which was exactly what they wanted. They envisioned a day that was both fun and as relaxed as possible! I had the best time photographing these two! Their chemistry was off the charts and they just had a good time together. You could tell just how happy they were by their ear-to-ear smiles and the way they lit up when they looked at each other. 

Owl’s Nest Resort Wedding

Jillian’s lacey long-sleeve wedding dress was AMAZING! The long train featured more intricate lace detail. She was truly a picture of beauty and elegance. While getting ready, Jillian received an extra special visit from her dog, Farley. Both Jillian and Jeff love their dog so much and often joke over who he loves more. It was so special to have Farley present on their special day. His adorable face appeared on the custom drink napkins and even on Jeff’s cufflinks. I love when couples incorporate these little details into their wedding and truly make it their own.  

Once ready, the couple shared a private first look on a hilltop with the White Mountains in the distance. We took time afterwards to capture their wedding portraits amidst the stunning landscape. When it was time for the ceremony to start, everyone gathered on the beautiful outdoor deck overlooking the water – their lakeside ceremony was a dream.

Once Jillian and Jeff were officially husband and wife, everyone moved inside the luxurious space for cocktail hour and the reception. The elegant details paired wonderfully with rustic-charm and modern design of the venue. After the newlyweds made their grand entrance, they shared an epic choreographed first dance filled with dips and twirls! We ended the day with a beautiful sunset that made for the most gorgeous golden hour portraits on the hilltop. The happy couple then made their way back to dance the night away with all their loved ones.  It was the perfect ending to a perfect wedding day!
